In their words.
Swift Level Farm is 152 acres and is located just outside of Lewisburg in Greenbrier County. We raise and finish our steers on the farm and then market the beef through our meat shop, Swift Level Fine Meats, also located in Lewisburg. My family has been farming in southern WV since 1843. We purchase our steers (Angus, Simmental and Hereford crosses) from two neighboring farms as weaned calves around 5–6 months of age. They are raised on managed pastures and moved regularly to ensure plenty of quality forages and good weight gain with constant access to clean water. We supplement with organic kelp and necessary supportive minerals for health. Selected steers are ready at an average 1300–1500 pounds live weight. The carcass hangs 900–1000 pounds. We use a small USDA slaughter and processing facility in Harrisonburg, VA. Tag numbers trace each package of beef from birth to consumer. We sell by the whole, half, quarter and cut, no order too small or too large! We process year-round and ship seasonally. To order: Please contact us via email or phone.
