In their words.
Mary Mel Family Farm is a small, family-owned farm dedicated to raising nutrient-dense food with integrity, care, and respect for the land. Rooted in tradition and guided by regenerative practices, we steward our land in North Carolina to produce pasture-raised pork, grass-fed beef, pasture-raised chicken, free-range eggs, and seasonal vegetables — all grown the way nature intended. Our farm began as a promise to our children to leave a legacy of sustainability and stewardship for them. Named in honor of our four children, including our late daughter Mary Katherine, Mary Mel Family Farm reflects a deep commitment to caring for the earth and for future generations. We believe healthy food starts with healthy soil, and we focus on regenerative methods that build soil fertility, protect biodiversity, and prioritize animal welfare. Our pigs and cattle live outdoors year-round, rotationally grazing and exploring as nature designed; this results in healthy, happy animals and more flavorful, nutrient-rich meat. We never use synthetic pesticides, GMOs, growth hormones, or unnecessary antibiotics. Our vegetables are grown without chemical inputs, thriving instead through thoughtful soil man…
Mary Mel Family Farm lists grass-fed, pasture-raised, and regenerative on their public-facing materials. These are the producer’s own claims; we do not independently audit them.
