The farm

In their words.

Lil' Ponderosa Enterprises have a closed herd of purebred black angus beef cattle on a 350-acre owned and rented family farm. We are feeding grass via MIG Managed Intensive Grazing. Our farm and family have earned both local and national awards, including the 2001 Grassland and Forage Council Conservation Farmer Award, the 2003 PA Cattlemen's Association Environmental Stewardship, the 2005 National Cattlemen's Beef Association Stewardship Award, Denver, CO., and the 2011 Conservation Farmer of the Year, Cumberland County Conservation District. Our cows are never fed grain. We do not use hormones, implants, or any artificial feed. No animal by-products are used. We grow all our own feed. Grass and legumes 60/40 ratio fed as dry hay and haylege. We offer freezer beef in any quantity and also free-range chickens.

Editor’s note

Lil' Ponderosa Enterprises lists grass-fed on their public-facing materials. These are the producer’s own claims; we do not independently audit them.
