The farm

In their words.

Bowers Farm, a family farm run by Jim and Mary Bowers, is located in Ethridge, Tennessee in the middle of an Amish Community. We humanely raise pastured Heritage Breed Large Black Hogs/American Guinea Hog crosses, Red Devon cattle, and layer hens. The hogs are pastured in grass and forested areas, with supplemental non-GMO and non-Soy feed. PORK is available by the cut. The Red Devon cattle are completely grass fed/finished; Devon BEEF is available by the cut, whole, or 1/2 side. Our small flock of hens are a mix of Black Australorps and Buff Orpingtons, Rhode Island Reds, Olive Eggers and Easter Eggers. They are pastured with non-GMO and non-Soy supplemental feed as well. All the livestock at Bowers Farm are free of vaccines, hormones. Antibiotics may be given in a life-threatening situation, which is very rare. The animals drink well water and cisterned rain water. Vegetables from the gardens are organically grown, but not certified organic. Please visit our website or call us for more information, including the farmers markets we attend.

Editor’s note
