Snake River Farm: BISON, BEEF, HOGS, SHEEP, GOATS, GEESE, DUCKS, TURKEYS. We raise bison, beef, hogs (pork) and lamb for direct sale to consumers, by the quarter or half. All our animals live in natural groups, in pastures. We use no chemicals, hormones, or unnecessary medications. The Snake River winds through our 240 acres for more than a mile, creating a unique landscape of native prairie, oak savanna, wooded lowlands, wet meadows, and tamarack swamp. We are leaders and teachers in sustainable farming methods. We seasonally rotate the herds and flocks through open and wooded pastures as is best for the animals and the land. Bison, beef, and lamb are grass-fed only. Hogs and poultry are raised in pastures with supplementary local grains. Our animals are humanely harvested and then processed in a state inspected facility. We pasture-harvest beef and bison to minimize stress.
