The farm

In their words.

Radical Roots Farm is a small veteran- and female-owned family farm utilizing regenerative agricultural practices in Sterling, CT. We currently raise rare, well-marbled and high-quality Lincoln Red BEEF, lean but tender Scottish Highland BEEF, Mulefoot PORK (heritage breed with a lot of intramuscular marbling and real flavor), Red Wattle PORK, heritage CHICKENS and TURKEYS, and more. All our heritage breed livestock are rotated through pasture and woodlot for the duration of their lives and are able to forage freely. They are provided supplemental minerals but are never given any antibiotics or hormones; we do not use any chemical fertilizers or pesticides on our farm. Our motto is no-waste, so we keep everything from every animal including fat, bones, skull, hide, etc. and re-purpose them for soaps, decorations, lotions, pet treats, and more. Our farm offerings include many purchase options: by the cut, meat shares (CSA boxes of 8 or 18 pounds a month, or a sample box of 18 pounds), and quarter, half, or whole animals. Feel free to order by e-mail, text, or on the website for on-farm pickup, meet-up, delivery or shipping direct to your door!

Editor’s note

Radical Roots Farm lists grass-fed, grass-finished, and regenerative on their public-facing materials. These are the producer’s own claims; we do not independently audit them. Available locally in Connecticut.
