In their words.
Pittsburgher Highland Farm raises grass-fed cattle and sheep, pastured pigs, free-range dual-purpose ducks, and bees. All the animals are raised humanely using organic practices. The cattle and sheep feed on grass and stored forages only, meeting and exceeding USDA definitions for grass-fed, grass-finished, natural, and naturally raised. Products include grass-fed beef and lamb, pastured pork, chicken and duck eggs, honey, beef bone broth, tallow, tallow balm, and liver dog treats. Most of these are sold direct to consumers with local delivery available as well as strategic pick-up points. PHF has been a vendor at the Bloomfield Saturday Market and Bloomfield Winter Market since their inceptions. Additionally, the farm operation offers Sunday tours booked in advance, events rental, and overnight lodging at Highland House, a charming tiny home located amidst the Laurel Highlands foothills.
Pittsburgher Highland Farm lists grass-fed, grass-finished, and pasture-raised on their public-facing materials. These are the producer’s own claims; we do not independently audit them.
