Longview Farms is a family farm in Havana, Florida built on the premise that healthy foods come from healthy soils. We feed the soil with only natural, organic inputs and we use the interrelationship between animals and plants to build fertility in the soil and resilience in the animals. We raise cows and pastured chickens for meat and eggs. We rotate the cows and chickens regularly to add natural fertilizer to the soil while ensuring the animals are eating the most nutritious grasses and legumes. We have chosen our animal breeds very intentionally, ensuring that they all match our intensive rotational grazing program and provide the best quality, best tasting meats. We raise Devon cows for our grassfed beef operation. Devons finish very well on grass; they are easy to handle; and they are excellent mothers. Our laying hens include Rhode Island Reds, and Red Stars. The laying hens free-range all day under the watchful protection of our Great Pyrenees guard dogs. We raise Freedom Ranger broilers on pasture in movable schooners. All the chickens are fed a high quality, non-GMO feed from Kalmbach Feeds.
